Canada’s an interesting case study in how a settler-colonial country can create and maintain such a smug, self-satisfied streak. We brag about being better than the USA while also being built on genocide and imperialism, we constantly retort “free healthcare” while our governments strip our facilities dry. Our media has a huge hand in keeping up this façade. As such, it deserves critical systemic analysis, the kind you won’t get from TorStar, CBC, or Postmedia.
